On the evening of February 15, 2026 (London time), FTCMP successfully held a Spring Festival Gala with the theme of “Dragon and Horse Spirit, Kang Jian Britain.” From 20 p.m. to 22 :30p.m, members, fellow Chinese medicine practitioners and friends from all over the UK and around the world gathered in the cloud to celebrate the Spring Festival through the Zoom conference platform. The atmosphere was warm and happy.
The evening began with the play of the melodic music “Racer” and a propaganda film for the academy, creating a strong festive atmosphere. Hosts Xia Yu, Liu Beinan and Gu Qing joined forces on stage to ignite the opening ceremony with passionate opening words.
Chapter 1: The Spirit of the Dragon Horse
The president of the FTCMP , Chen Zanyu, first delivered a New Year’s Day speech, extending holiday greetings to all members and friends from all walks of life. Subsequently, highly respected teachers Zhu Buxian and Gong Ling also made speeches, expressing their love to the FTCMP for a prosperous year, making more and better operations, and contributing to the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese medicine in England.
As we delve into the first segment of the fusion of arts and academia, host Xia Yu guides the audience in experiencing the “Dragon and Horse Vitality.”President Chen Zanyu immediately waved a hand in the sitting and displayed the word “horse” in calligraphy, drawing dragons and snakes. Dr. Wang Mingbo delivered a message for the Year of the Horse featuring Chinese medicine; Dr. Zhao Xuejing expressed her feelings with an original poem, “Happy New Year in the Year of the Horse in England.” Dr. Liu Quanjun explains the practice and use of the classic Tai chi technique “wild horse division of mane” and explains health wisdom. Dr Yuan Bingsheng takes the group on a fascinating tour of the “horse story” of Chinese technological and cultural history.
The subsequent draw was chaired by Dr. Wang Youjun, who first pulled out two lucky viewers to send New Year’s happiness.
Host Liu Beinan took over and the spectacle continued. Teacher Gong Ling read a heartfelt rendition of “Happy Chinese New Year of the FTCMP for the Year of the Horse,” filled with a deep affection for the Society. The innovative interactive segments “Comparison of the utility of herbal medicine names with the word ‘horse'” and “Comparison between the idioms of the Year of Horse” brought the evening’s atmosphere to a climax. Dr. Li Qiaoying and Fan Zhichao respectively presided, and the children and the audience participated enthusiastically, and the final wisdom award was each given, and everyone learned about Chinese medicine in joy.
Chapter 2: KangJian Yinglun
The evening event entered its second segment, “Kang Jian ying lun,” where host Gu Qing guided the audience through the harmonious beauty of art and health. Dr. Wang Youjun’s flute solo recital, “Singing” is splendid and evocative; Poor Ye Meiliang’s song “Wish You a Dream” is affectionate. Dr. Shu Ming fluently recites the Book of Materia Medica, demonstrating deep expertise. Little Li Yixuan’s piano song “Puppets Dance” is lively and lovely. The Shanghai opera “The Canary Bird,” sung by Dr. Chen Yixian, is a gentle and melodious play that demonstrates the charm of multiculturalism. Dr. Sun Xiuying offered poems to celebrate spring; Oleg Lebedev, a doctor from the United Kingdom, from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, tells the prediction of climate and health laws in the Year of the Fire Horse. The “Chinese art exhibition” later displayed by Dr. Xia Yu added a strong artistic atmosphere to the gala. Finally, Zhou Shiwei’s “Meeting Is a Song,” which he sang with Dr. Tong Shulan, warms the heart and sings out the precious friendship of gathering in the cloud.
In the second round of the draw, chaired by Dr. Wang Youjun, three more lucky viewers received a New Year’s Eve gift.
A successful conclusion and a shared future
At the end of the evening, President Chen Zanyu took the stage again to summarize the evening and offer sincere thanks to all participants, performers and friends from all walks of life who supported the development of the FTCMP. Finally, during the warm melodies of the whole room singing “Love each other and love each other as a family,” the Chinese New Year gala on the FTCMP Chinese new year 2026 was successfully concluded.
The gala program was rich and colorful, which not only had traditional cultural heritage, but also incorporated traditional Chinese medicine features and the spirit of the times, fully demonstrating the spirit of Chinese medicine people in the United Kingdom who are united and progressive. Everyone wished a good year of the Year of the Jubilee, good health and all the best, and asked to meet again next year.
